Welcome!

I Am A Blogger!
At the urging of my younger, hipper brother, I am making an attempt to bring myself up to speed and enter into the world of blogging. I will post news here in order to keep you up on our whereabouts and doings.

We Have A Plan!
I have made a plane reservation for May 1st to return to Cambodia and will look for a house for my mom, Luka, Chen, and myself. I will return before my mom and Luka; they will join me in June. I have one more semester of grad school (June 27-July27) and then a research project to complete by December 2008.

At this point, I am thinking that I will let Petra "Mop" continue to live at his school for the next school year and we will be his weekend family as well as covering his tuition and living expenses. I would love to have Tabby back, but don't know if her aunt will allow it; so we will also try to have her on weekends and help provide for her needs. So, that may mean that we are down to two children living in our home, but we will continue to financially support Chenda (age 16 and attending Logos school), Petra "Mop" (age 15 and boarding at a Cambodian Christian school), Noel (age 10 and attending Logos school), Srey Leak (age 13 and attending a Cambodian Christian school), and Tabby (age 5 and attending a Cambodian school).

I am in negotations with the Logos principal and we're looking at two possibilities for next year... Option 1: sharing a 5th grade classroom with another teacher and Option 2: acting as a liason who would visit in student's homes to assist parents in helping their children to improve in school. Both options would allow me flexibility to complete the research project that I must finish for my grad program.

We are still hoping to do some traveling. I am busy right now raising the last $200 in monthly support we need to meet our financial needs which will help to cover the costs of supporting 7 kids and the rising costs of living in Phnom Penh. Thanks to all of you who so faithfully support us already through your financial contributions and/or prayers!
